We all have run into one of those people in our lives whether it is in real life or any one of the many self-absorbed arrogant trolls on the Internet. They are the type that no matter what the topic is their opinion is the only opinion that matters. This is something that goes well beyond confidence but into a degree of arrogance rarely seen.
Their arrogance can almost be considered at the level of Clinical Insanity as no matter what the logical argument, no matter what the facts are, or no matter what anyone else says despite the most obvious correct stance they may have that clinically insane/ highly opinionated person is always right. It doesn’t matter what any details are at all. That person is right on everything no matter how insane their positions and how uninformed they are.
You could have a high school drop-out, no GED, never got their driver’s license (dito sa America), never worked a single day in any workforce, never ran an office, never ran a classroom, never held any political office, never been a manager, never ran a business person who is totally convinced that they are right about everything. It doesn’t matter that they have done nothing in the real or academic world but their life is all that they need and the History Channel or some other pathetic resource.
For individuals like that and for anyone you know like that, I would like to share this detail about the word called humility.
To put it in perspective a person needs to sit back and ponder the following:
According to the US Census Bureau, the world’s population is 6,736,979,674 or 6.7 billion people.
Of this, you might be known to exist by 25,000 people - maybe.
Of those 25,000, you may have 150 people that care about your opinion. I’m probably overestimating but oh well.
It means 6,736,954,674 people on this planet do not know you exist. Percentage wise, 99.9996% have no idea you live. But a massive 0.0004% does!!
It means 6,736,979,524 do not care one bit what you say. Percentage wise, to 99.999998% only know you as some mangmang on the planet. That makes a tremendous 0.000002% that actually wants to hear your opinion.
But that isn’t the best news of all, more people who will never care if you live or die are being born every minute of every day and your percentages are shrinking!!!
So to those who think they are so perfect that their opinion is the only opinion that matters in the world, please learn what this American phrase means. Please eat some humble pie.
For everyone else, forward this on to those who are like that.
Salamat po,
Anah

i always pray for the grace of humility. the grace of acceptance too.
humility because I always find it hard to understand. one needs to be humble to be able to understand. humility also makes you a better person, I have learned. because all of a sudden, you see so much of the things you haven’t seen before.
i’m blabbering.
Humility my dear, is the mother of all virtues…Take care, see you soon!
I am one of the people that go by my gut feeling and what I see around me. But I think people like me are outnumbered by many that goes by the book so much na di na sila in reality. Siguro they just hate to use their noodles kay followers man god. It proves din sa atoa kay bisag may Doctors na, uban would still rather choose to go to a superstitious quack, ma educated man or dili. Education has nothing to do with stupidy usahay, kay daghan man sab educated sa atoa pero, uban wala pa gihapon batasan. However, with me although I know may rules and book, I try to separate myself sa ganon kasi, may real time eh na minsan rules sa book don’t apply but, of course, I am a law abiding citizen. I have gone through it na kasi eh and life in general is full of lessons. So I don’t always go by what people say, kay we all know naman na kahit ano pa i-ingon sa mga tawo, we never give in and stick to our guns. I have a friend nga eh, educated and a scholar in Cebu finishing his master degree, pero same pa rin kami, as if not one of us went to college or not have gone to school at all…LOL. It depends ra gyod, siguro nga iba iba ang calculation nato. Ako gani bana mga Engineer kauban niya sa office when he was working, naku! Di nya inakala na kahit educated they still act like kids. Throwing papers in a ball, using rubber bands as sling shots and chasing one another. Running around like a weirdo talaga daw. That is why it seems na education and work experience don’t always justify a person’s intellect and manner. You can’t fix stupid man daw eh…LOL. Ok ah, throwing in my 2 cents lang.
One more thing, I found an article in contrary lang sa article about clinical insanity. I enjoyed reading both. Thanks for sharing!
Uhm, Ana…you missed something big (again).
Yes, intellect is not defined by the education and experience. Ignorance is defined by the education and experience or lack of.
I am not saying someone who has done nothing in the real world or the academic world is not intelligent. I am saying that their ignorance combined with arrogance makes them sound like babbling fools.
There are plenty of smart people in this world who are so stuck on their own ego that they sound like complete idiots to anyone who knows the facts.
As for what you missed, I will let you figure it out.
@ Mai & Sheng - I completely agree with you. What you said is what my husband has pointed out too. In order to figure out this great big world we live in, we need the humility to realize we are just a small part of it. Kinda like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. You have to be humble enough to know you don’t know the answer but have to work at figuring it out. Those w/out humility just try to assemble the jigsaw puzzle the way they want to and if it doesn’t fit, they get a hammer.
Salamat sa lahat ng comments,
Anah
Ah, oo, pero di naman sa those who thinks they know, actually know na gyod. Na ingon they have humbled themselves na by thinking they actually know. Yon nga lang we all go about our lives differently. May kanya kanyang deskarte at ways of living life. It doesn’t mean na just because you live your life going by the book, and thinking you know the facts, it means na others will live like you do, it’s life lang na people have their own way of life and thinking wise din. Humility is common, yon lang it’s natural na if we both disagree we can bash each other to death na. We all learn from each other’s mistakes, kaya I find it fun to interact. There is no telling who’s who, kay lagi naay ga go by the book og rules, pero things are changing lagi as we move forward, there is no time for staying backward. It’s not over pa naman kaya nga we learn as we go, lalo na ako I am not there yet, in the process pa lang. Okay, thanks for the response!
Uhm Ana, you lost me.
There is no point of exchanging point of views with you Ana.
In fact, you hurt my brain. I really don’t know what else to tell you.
Ana,
First, Anah of Whatsdabuzz is being far too kind to you. Let me say what needs to be said.
I’ve been reading your comments including the ones before they got deleted. I’ve attempted to read your blog and your hubby’s. I’m also a former teacher so I know my stuff. That is why I said attempted to read your blog. I had to stop as it hurt my brain.
I must say that you have got to be one of the dumbest people around. I think you rank up there with that college kid I had to teach on how to use a tweezer.
Let me simplify my comments even more so maybe you can understand them.
Holy crap!! You are an utterly clueless, loud-mouthed dumbass!! You can’t even comprehend that the entire article and the comments are all about you. Are you that dumb that you can’t comprehend when you have been insulted? No wonder you are a “high school drop-out, no GED, never got their driver’s license (dito sa America), never worked a single day in any workforce, never ran an office, never ran a classroom, never held any political office, never been a manager, never ran a business person.” You declare it on your blog!!
If you want to live your life by pulling your ideas out of your ass, good luck with that. The rest of the slightly intelligent world has long had a clue that living on a whim is sheer stupidity and suicidal.
Please, please, please stop commenting on this blog. The author is trying to engage in intelligent discourse and presenting information for others to think about. You are polluting it with your profound stupidity.
Please stop insulting what it is to be a Pinoy. It does our nation no good to be represented by idiots like you. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if the USCIS started using IQ tests on immigrants because of what you are spewing.
Magbasa ka na lng at if you cannot make smart comments. Please just don’t leave any more comments.
To the author of Whatsdabuzz - Please block this idiot’s comments.
