This report is a bit of wisdom my husband has recently gained as of last night. But let me give you the background first so the lesson makes sense.

In a previous post, I showed the pictures of how some Direct TV installation geniuses planted someone else’s satellite dish in our fenced off flower bed. Well, that someone else didn’t bother getting Direct TV to move it after two months and they happen to be an individual partially in charge around here.

We took the hint and opted to undo the work we did on the flower bed. What made this especially irritating is my hubby was in a lot of pain from doing the work to make the flower bed so nice. He was congratulated by the boss around here on how it looked and it was beautiful.

He did a lot of work on Saturday and got 90% of it done while cooking the chicken and salmon on the grill while I was napping. Yes, he is like that. You can imagine that digging up the tulip and daffodil bulbs and more is not a good thing for a guy wearing a brace on his ankle. But he’ll suck it up and work hard knowing that pain is coming.

Well, his feet hurt that night. However, he knows his body and a good night of rest will help him get back to “normal.” The next day though a different kind of pain came in. His muscles got sore on a good part of his back and thighs. So he put on some Cryotherapy gel called Bio-Freeze on his back muscles. That tended to the pain there but not the really sore muscles on the back of his thighs. He asked me to put the Cryotherapy gel on for him.

Here is the bit of Vested Marital Wisdom. If your spouse is not good at or doesn’t like reading directions, do not ask them to do something that requires reading directions. Well, I didn’t read the directions. Specifically, I did not read “Rub a thin film over desired area of the body, massage not necessary.”

If you haven’t used Ben Gay, Icy Hot, or any other Cryotherapy type ointment, it gives a mild tingling sensation that works its way in through the skin to the muscles to help the pain go away. That is if you follow the few words like “thin film” and “massage not necessary.” It wasn’t a thin film but a fairly thick layer that I did massage in. What does that do?

That tingling sensation skips to your skin and muscles to feeling like they are on fire. That was right before bedtime. Any amount of airflow makes it much worse. Unfortunately, the fan was on.

Eventually he got to sleep sometime in the early AM hours. Ooops. That’s a Vested Wisdom lesson learned. Tsk.. my bad!

Thank you,

Anah
