Another Business Area to Prep For

It really doesn’t matter if you run a business that is online or just brick ‘n mortar. No matter which you may run, you always have to give your absolute best to the consumer because the consumer is the king or queen.

Now that phrase may be overused to a degree and for some consumers it goes to their head as they may want a company to perform miracles in business segments it has nothing to do with. You cannot help those consumers. But for the sane consumers who have enough IQ to know what a business can and cannot do, you do need to give them the best service possible.

Why? The best marketing is word of mouth from the pleased consumers. Also, the worst marketing is word of mouth from displeased customers. The norm is the pleased consumers may tell their connections the positives about your business or say nothing at all. Those who are displeased will let the world know.

The plus side is in the real world those who know the complainer may disregard them as they are one who gripes about everything. But when they take their complaints online, you now have to repair the damage done as no one knows if one yahoo is telling the truth about a company or not. So to combat this, it is important that you tend to your online reputation management with enough positives and solid SEO terms to negate those who are the whiners of the world.

Granted, if those have something to complain about, then you really need to make amends and clean up your business personnel or practices. It all goes both ways.

Geek Moment

To answer the questions of those who do not know it yet, yes there is money to be made on the Internet. You need to know your basics though.

Sure when you get your website up and running and highly profitable, you can purchase your own servers to act as the hosts for your websites or domains. But what do you do until that point in time?

Quite simply, you need the services of other companies to host your e-commerce site or your blog site if you run enough traffic. So who do you turn to for your web hosting needs?

Well, the answer is not always a clear cut answer. But using websites like the link include take the research out of it for you. Figure out what your budget is, traffic details, future goals for the website and that can guide you to the proper host.

Those Technical Details

For all those business owner friends of mine, consider this a bit of a heads up information.

Remember that detail on your business called keeping records so there is a paper trail to cover your rear end? Well, the Sarbanes-Oxley governance law and other such ones have made all business owners’ lives less than enjoyable.

So what do you normally do? You acquire file cabinet after file cabinet of paper, paper and more paper. Soon you have to allocate more and more space to physically storing your records and data.

Can you save the information on a server? What happens when the power goes out during a business day? That does not help much then. Perhaps the server crashes and you lose data. The laws do not let you have the luxury of lost data. You have to back it up. However, the nature of your business may force greater usage of paper so you are stuck.

So how do you meet the required necessities of records management, reduce your physical space requirements and not hire a batch of people on your payroll just for paperwork? Well you could outsource it to a document scanning service.

A document scanning service basically saves you the expense and wasted time of converting your old and sometimes current paper records into a condensed record storage system. So when someone wants to make a dollar at your expense, you are more than ready to arm your attorneys.
