Pinoy Pride – Charice and Celine Dion Follow Up

[ad#inlinkunit]

Thanks to a few people who attended the Celine Dion concert we have the videos of Charice with Celine Dion. Now technically Oprah wasn’t the one on the USA side to have Charice on first but it was Ms. DeGeneres but who cares about those minor details.

Here is when Celine Dion introduced Charice to the Madison Square Garden crowd. There are a few minor details about Charice’s life. The issues with her father are unfortunately all too common. But I won’t blame Celine for not knowing the details as that is life in the Philippines which she wouldn’t know.

One other detail is Charice and Arnel are not the only exceptional musical talents. Even though they have the greatest popularity right now, there are many more high quality singers in the Philippines. After all, we are a nation obsessed with the karaoke machine, singing and dancing contests.

I like to think of Charice and Arnel as international musical trailblazers for their country of Philippines. We can export nurses, musicians and dancers along with the standard exported products and produce.

But let me get back to Charice and Celine. Here is their performance together. When Charice is about to do the high note, look behind her at the backup singers in the lower right corner. Their reaction is humorous.

For being nervous, Charice did the Philippines proud on such a massive stage.

Thank you,

Anah

Pinoy Pride Moment V

Charice has done it once again! We have been following Charice Pempengco and Arnel Pineda as their stories have unfolded.

If you are curious, please follow the links to my other Pinoy Pride posts located here, here, here, and here.

This time Charice got a full Oprah Winfrey show devoted to her, her life story, and her singing. I must say that she has remarkably improved over her previous time on Oprah. The control, emotion, confidence and the overall maturation in her voice is amazing. She was extremely good before but as she ages her skills keep improving. This is putting the Philippines musical abilities on the international map. But do not take my word, watch it for yourself.

Now to top this, she gets to live one of the ultimate dreams of a music loving pinoy. She gets to sing a duet to her mom in Madison Square Garden in New York City with Celine Dion!! That is one of the biggest venues in the United States. To quote the website, Madison Square Garden is “The World’s Most Famous Arena in the heart of New York City.”

Now, how does Charice top that?

Mabuhay ka Charice, sana hindi ka magbago! :) You make us proud!

Thank you,

Anah

Arnel & Charice Update

All proud Pinoy are watching as our singers get center stage in the public eye. Yes, there are still those who will talk badly anything that is new or different but that is their problem.

The best thing to do is ignore those small minded people who have not realized that it is a big world with 6 billion people who could care less what the ignorant ones say.

So let us all enjoy the words of Arnel and Charice as they represent the Philippines well. May their humility remain as their fame and fortune grow.

For those who do not know where these singers come from, here is an example of our singing competitions for those under 10 years old:

Charice was good when she was 9. If only I could be so honored to be on Philippine Idol. *wink*
