Going for the Gold

No, I am not talking about gold fillings for your teeth. I am also not talking about going for an Olympic gold medal either. I am talking about another point of Pinoy pride and Arnel Pineda. Journey with the lead singer in Arnel have gone Gold!

That means the latest Journey CD, Revelations, has sold 500,000 copies. Yes, I have done my part by getting my copy as I am certain many other proud Pinoy have done. The first CD is the new songs sung by Arnel and the second are the classics by Steve Perry. When you alternate the CDs you can barely tell the two apart. Go figure there are fan sites and Planet Arnelia or Arnel Pineda Fans even carries products promoting Arnel. I’m not really certain if those are licensed or not but why not?

For those of us here in the USA, we can all identify with Arnel in yet another way. He had a scare with immigrations as many do who come here legally. From the APF, we can read this clip from his biography.

“When Arnel arrived to apply for his US visa citing his reasons as auditioning for Journey, the immigration agents did not take him seriously and were about to send him home empty-handed. Luckily, one agent had seen Arnel perform at the Bagaberde club the previous night and recognized him. The agent recalls being impressed with Arnel’s vocal skills and thinking he sounds like Steve Perry. He asked Arnel to sing “Wheel In The Sky” a cappella in the office. Everyone applauded and Arnel’s visa was granted.”

So if any of my Filipino readers haven’t purchased their copy of Revelations yet, you know what to do. If I had 500,000 readers then we would make the CD go platinum. But if I had that, my page rank would be through the roof. (Wish ko lang haha!)

Thank you,

Anah

Arnel & Charice Update

All proud Pinoy are watching as our singers get center stage in the public eye. Yes, there are still those who will talk badly anything that is new or different but that is their problem.

The best thing to do is ignore those small minded people who have not realized that it is a big world with 6 billion people who could care less what the ignorant ones say.

So let us all enjoy the words of Arnel and Charice as they represent the Philippines well. May their humility remain as their fame and fortune grow.

For those who do not know where these singers come from, here is an example of our singing competitions for those under 10 years old:

Charice was good when she was 9. If only I could be so honored to be on Philippine Idol. *wink*

Vacation Planning?

So what can a person do on their vacation plans while staying within a decreasing budget? There are a number of options to choose from.

If you are of the more active role, there are always bike trails where you can take in nature while getting in the free exercise. There is always hiking, horseback riding, gardening or any of the other options that both give you a good workout while enjoying the great outdoors.

But there are times where you may not want to expend that much energy and would rather let someone else do the work for a change. Perhaps you would like to see Arnel Pineda and Journey. If you want to though, you will need your concert tickets.

Would you rather prefer heading out to a Packers or a Milwaukee Brewers game? Then you need to get your sports tickets. There are a variety of options on how to get your tickets to any of these events but you will need to make your selections carefully.

There are some things to factor in when choosing which business you choose to get your tickets from. Which one will present you with the best options in security, efficiency and expediency? In other words, rank your options based on how fast, safe and easy they are.

Enjoy the options!
