Exercise Dance

Even though this dance seems like it has very few if any moves to it, I challenge you to get up off of your chair and go the duration of the song.

For many, this is going to be a bit difficult to pull off. I know this will definitely help me tone my torso.

As for fond memories that I have of this song, let us just say some can look rather silly doing this dance.

Give it a whirl and give it your best.

Enjoy!

Career Shift Anyone?

There are some days when I just get sick and tired of people who can’t read their computer screens or a card calling me up to whine and blame me because they are illiterate. Okay, mild vent out of the way. But in order to change careers, you will eventually need new training.

Since I am getting tired of the phone, I thought I would contemplate going to this heavy machinery school. There I could learn wonderful skills using a large concrete mixer truck so I can permanently seal that evil phone. Perhaps I can use the skills in driving a bulldozer and leveling the place of the next person that says “I hope you can help me” then proceeds to yell at me because they called the wrong number.

All joking aside on that, we likely will need new education for a career shift. As much as operating heavy machinery may be very interesting to do. There is a minor requirement to attend the program that I may not be able to fulfill. I may not be tall enough to reach the pedals. If I am lucky, maybe the equipment will have levers to use instead of pedals. Then I might be in business if they allow me to take my booster seat out of the car so I can actually see what I’m doing.

Clothing Retailers Tidbits of Wisdom

[ad]

There goes a saying about the shopper’s mantra, “Never pay retail,” diba? Here’s an inside look of how retail pricing works for clothing.

According to what I have read, it is impossible to know what a specific retailer paid for the garments on display. The pricing process works like this:

Let’s just say a shirt comes in with a suggested retail price of $50 preprinted on the hang tag. In the selling season, they will put that shirt on display for that price and out of all of the people who end up buying the shirt, only 10-20% of the buyers will pay the original price. After you factor the sales and the coupons, the price of the shirt literally starts creeping lower and lower. By the end of the selling season, the shirts are marked down to about $20 or lower than what the suggested retail price is.

However, do not feel bad for the retailer because the store’s bean counters have their eye on the average selling price of the garment through its entire sales cycle. They are quite happy if the average hits twice the wholesale price.

Kaya next time you consider buying stuff that’s not on sale, think about it and ask yourself first… “Isn’t it worth it to wait a month or two if you can get this dress at a 70 or 80 percent discount later?” If you ask me, I normally wait until it is out of season. Living here in WI helped me learned how to shop wisely.
