Unnecessary Cost of Gasoline

[ad]

Here in the USA we have hit a new level never before seen here. Four dollars a gallon gasoline is the new thing greeting people at the pump. In Php, that would be 160 Php per gallon.

Sa Pilipinas, the country is subject to the adjusted costs as the vast majority of the gasoline used is imported. The Philippines is home to many things but rich oil fields are not one of them. So for the most part, the Philippines are off the hook regarding the cost of gasoline. There is only so much a government can control.

However, the cost of gasoline in the USA has been and still remains under the control of the USA. It is known the USA is sitting on more than enough oil just off its East Coast, West Coast, in Alaska and in the Dakotas to take care of the needs of the gasoline usage while developing alternative sources such as cars running on air or water. I didn’t even know this until hubby told me na pwede pala silang mag drill ng oil dito.

The cost of gasoline is partially due to the Law of Supply and Demand (I like this subject!) but has a lot to do with the Federal Reserve lowering the interest rates and flooding the country with money not supported by gold or silver. All of these things and other practices that hit the homeowners, those who need to get back and forth to work, purchase food and drink, heating costs, all continue to raise the cost on just trying to function here. It is also reported that non-supervisor wages fell at the same time all of the standard living costs went up.

Reports show things will get worse long before it gets better. Inflation has been set up by misguided practices and now all will pay the price.

How could this have been prevented? President George Bush and many others said that proper wisdom and foresight to start the drilling and refinery the country needed 20 years ago. Instead, they bickered (Childish arguing) and did nothing. What will the answer be now if you look to the government? More bickering and no action or taking the worst course of action possible is the likely answer.

Will higher gas costs change the habits of people in the USA? To a small degree, they might. But when you have 2500 miles separating two of your biggest cities in the same country and families spread out somewhere between, what might work in Europe or the Philippines does not apply to here.

My hubby said it well that the best thing the USA government could do is take a lesson from what is known by the majority of the Philippines o sa ibang bansa. Use all of the resources you have and do not spend more than you make. Just like the letchon (whole roasted pig) – use everything you got hehe! (sarap).

  • Gas prices are ridiculous!!! I just paid $3.78/gallon in Florida….OUCH!!!!!

  • yeah buti nga sa US they have oil fields out there. Unlike here in the Philippines. I think there’s only 1 or 2. Not sure though.

Hey nice theme Anah. Fresh and clean. Maybe you can customize your search bar as well to fit the theme.

  • Not only the US has crude oil reserve but I have also found out from a source (pasyente ko na nagwork sa Livermore as VP) that charcoal fuel can be also used. Charcoal has been tested na for over 50 years. It shows that it can fuel cars, heaters at home and other things. The only problem is that the government wouldn’t even try to publish this as they can’t make money out of it. The real big money is on crude oil.

It is ridiculous for a $4 a gallon. Everything is rising up its price. Effective Tuesday of next week, the 41 cents stamp will rise to 42 cents. This will be a yearly raise. I am just glad that I can pay my bills online. Cost me nothing.

Sigh..what the world has become :(
