They say a picture is worth a thousand words. That is why this topic can best be explained in few words by me.
In the Philippines, Christianity with an emphasis on the Catholic denomination is the primary religion. In all aspects of life, Christianity and our affirmation of God is on display whether it be engraved in large letters on government buildings, the display of the 10 Commandments on public grounds, or freely displayed paintings at any market place. That is our faith pure and simple. We are proud of it and we show it. Also, we don’t get sued if we display “In God We Trust” on public establishment. Dito sa America- matakot ka hehe!

However, the same cannot be said about the USA. The majority of the citizens say they are Christians or about 80% of them. However, a minority of atheists and humanists go out of their way to remove Christianity from the public areas, from mentioning Jesus in public, attempts to outlaw the Bible, and many other ways of breaking their First Amendment in the Bill of Rights. The history is even rewritten to exclude the strong Christian heritage of the USA. Just watch the video for more information.

Anah, I like your brief article about Catholicism in the Philipines. I am writing a thesis for my college course and I wonder if you can answer in your own opinion, why most Filipino Catholics are hesitant or refused to convert to other form of Christianity like “born again Christian?” I will appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks a million.
God bless,
Cris
