No Sweat

photo grabbed from blogosphere somewhereIt goes without saying that in the Philippines or Pinas- it is hot and humid. Sweating is a natural daily occurrence and our “tan” gets darker from the dust in the air.

Now this may be a personal issue but I am opening it up to everyone else out of curiosity. Whether it is in Los Angeles or Wisconsin, the USA is flat out colder and less humid than the Philippines. You might get close to the heat and humidity in Florida, Hawaii or Corpus Christi, Texas but one key detail remains. The Philippines is nearly on top of the equator. The southernmost state in the USA is Hawaii and it doesn’t come close to the equator.

So no matter where you might relocate to in the USA, it is colder and less humid. What this meant for me was I could not get warm enough to break a sweat.

For me to break a sweat, I would have to dress in sweat pants, a sweat shirt and do high speed aerobics in the summertime with the air conditioning off. Then I just barely started to sweat. “Ang hirap!”

The downside to this is my skin pores were not being cleared out by sweat so now I have to do it manually with proper soaps and lotions. Or the acne gets out of control but that is a different entry.

The plus side is you save money on the antiperspirant as you need to perspire for it to be of any use. So Goryo is thankful for me being just a little lower maintenance. <kung sa bisaya pa, humot ko ug ilok haha sa makasabot lang!>

It may just be my body is still adjusting to the environment or I might have this issue for a while. I definitely know it is hard to break a sweat when it is -14 Celsius outside.

What about you?

Thank you,

A n a

  • Hello ga, magpuli ko sa Pinas balik ati naman ko! Kag abaw true gid when it comes to sweating, Hubs would laugh at me when we’re there coz i sweat too much!

Anyway, the night before yesterday it snowed here in albuquerque but of course it melted in the morning and turned the roads to ice. I took Eric to school and not even halfway there we turned back, kay nagslide man ang jeep ko over ice. Very scary and dangerous, without the curb i don’t know what else could help the brakes. Mayo lang other cars are moving in other direction.Haay buhay gid ah!

  • Hi Anah,
Luv your new layout. You always have clean and crisp theme with subtle hint of femineness.
For me to break a sweat on a chilly temp is to keep my heartbeat elevated and 15-20 mins moderate to intense level with the eliptical machine ( or maybe treadmill or stationary bike) helps my sweat glands to wake up.If you do more then even better .You will sweat for sure w/o the need to turn the thermostat on.
