Unless you are uniquely gifted in the category of geography, all of us can stand to improve our geographical skills. Actually knowing which continent a country is on would advance the understanding of many people of life somewhere else.
For example, knowing that the Philippines is close to the equator and is a nation of islands exposed to currents would prevent them from asking questions like “Do you get much snow there?” Or “I wish I had your tan.” It is really hard to be nice and polite when someone says something so stupid or ignorant.
So for a fun exercise, try and keep up with the following song. But as a side note, this was done in the 1980’s so a new verse would be needed to cover all of the changes of Czechoslovakia, Burma, the USSR and a few others that have undergone changes. Change is a constant we all have to deal with.
But this is just a fun blast from the past.
