5 Comments Bumps in the Road
A problem that stems from not being able to sweat, cold weather and clean out your pores is a 4 letter word. In the English language, many of the swear words, vulgarity terms and cuss words are four letters long such as work, crap, poop, and many others I will not type here. But the four letter word that comes from not sweating is acne o sa tagalog taghiyawat, sa bisaya pa-gibugas at sa ilonggo-punggod lol!
In the Philippines, I did not have any problems at all with acne. I was blessed with clear skin until I moved to Wisconsin. That is when all the bumps in the road started or the acne came out in full force. I wish this acne was the small bumps you can get but I really got hit with some big ones. Since I’m from Gensan, I would say I brought Mt. Matutum with me. Some days were worse than others and my face looked like the Pocdol Mountains with Mt. Arayat poking out on my temples.
To complicate this further, the standard soaps and lotions I used on my face in the Philippines were not available here. The nearest Filipino store is an hour drive away and they mainly carry imported food items. So I have to start over trying to find what if anything would work.
Granted I have a hubby who teasingly asks for my permission to pop the zits but no thanks on that one. Permission denied under threat of tampo LOL!
So if you are headed here to the USA, you might find the picture all too familiar when you are here. (Yup, the photo is overkill hehe!)
Bring what you can with you as you will likely need it. Anyone else have the same issues?

Fortunately, I am one lucky girl because I only have one or two pimples on my face. Sometimes Mt. Apo size or Mt. pinatubo! hehehe. Like your Goryo, my bigbear would give his left nut to pop my zits!lol. But anyhoo, let me know what soap you use because I might swing by at the filipino store tomorrow and get you some. TC!!

Marghie has same problem. We went to a derm yesterday and she got her medicines.
Sometimes, sa lamig din yan, our skin is too fragile and not get used to cold weather, acne attack!

Te Amy- Sabi din nang dermatologists sa cold weather din daw. Yup, you are correct ate kasi after 3 years, acne ko hindi na worse than before. Glad to see you here again.
