Did You Know
2 Comments Influenza Vaccine Alert
Sometimes my posts have humor in them. Sometimes I use a bit of sarcasm. But this is one of those times that I will be totally serious as this is a significant issue for those in the USA or wanting to come here. Mga Nanay o Mommy reading this entry; please click the hyperlinks. Disturbing talaga, baka sabihin nyo OA ako masyado but this influenza vaccine eh talagang disturbing!
First, influenza or known as “the flu” o lagnat sa atin. It is a form of illness that knocks you on your butt for 2-3 days then you get back to life as normal. The symptoms vary but almost always include a fever over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. They also carry a combination of cough, runny nose, nasal congestions, irritability, headaches, chills, and muscle aches.
How do you combat o fight it? Mainly common sense is what is called for. You eat a proper diet, get enough sleep, reducing stress in your life and using hydrogen peroxide to clean out your ears. If you are from the Philippines, we’ve been through tougher bugs and the flu bug has a tendency not to hit you as hard. (At least that is the case for me.)
However, some pharmaceutical companies and the Center for Disease Control are pushing what is known as the flu shot or in this case FluMist by Medimmune for use in a nasal injection. This mist is shot up into the nose to be breathed in. Of course the company says it is all for helping stem the tide of the flu bug. Making nearly a billion dollars a year (sales for a for-profit company) from it would have nothing at all to do with them pushing (marketing) it really hard.
So is it a good idea to get the flu shot for you or your children? When you read the Adverse Reactions (epekto ng vaccination) report and cautions on it, any mom o nanay out there should be very cautious of allowing this to happen.
What are the risks of using FluMist?
Introducing a live virus into the nasal passage will risk causing encephalitis. This is because there is a very real possibility of viruses being directly transmitted to the brain. At the very minimum, the side effects are the flu bug itself in full effect. Since this is a live virus in the sinus passage, it can easily be spread to others. Nakakahawa po ang live virus na ‘to.
The caution provided means those living with or in close contact with anyone with the following conditions could potentially harm them.
The conditions are asthma, eczema, cancer, HIV, AIDS, organ transplant recipients, breast feeding mothers, expecting mothers, and anyone getting a corticosteroid. The ailments that get corticosteroids are those with asthma, allergies, eczema, emphysema, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, herniated spinal discs, acute muscular pain syndromes and all other kinds of rheumatoid and autoimmune diseases. In other words, over half of the entire population shouldn’t be exposed to someone to gets this “immunization shot.”
Further, it increases your odds of getting Alzheimer’s disease by 10x for every 5 years of flu shots. If that wasn’t bad enough, they do not guarantee other viruses are not included in the ‘shot.’
I did not even cover a rather disturbing part of it either. This vaccine and others may contain human diploid lung cells or in simpler terms aborted baby lung tissue. Dios ko po, nababaliw na ata ang gov’t dito!
Personally, I’ll opt for beating it the old fashioned way and not subject my daughter, my husband or me to what is a big pharmaceutical experiment.
