Soweee ang part II na delay po…

Now, we turn to the Global Warming craze, Copenhagen summit, and the details behind it all in general. You have the politicians and select “scientists” who are declaring that we must act now or we are all going to die! Ah!! Government to the rescue!! Oh, let us ignore the minor details. Summarizing them nicely is my daughter:

” The temperatures are going down not up. It is getting colder not warmer.”

Yes, that is true of our area here. It is hard to tell in the Phils where it is always hot and humid because of the oceans and the equator. It also is true when you read the data taken from the accurate measuring devices. But shhh, don’t tell all the big wigs an 8-yr-old figured out they are lying. It is so nice of the so-called scientists to leave a detailed email trail of their fraud.

Lastly is a new initiative announced by the current President of the USA at a retail store called Home Depot. He declared his administration will launch a tax incentive program or something of the like to get people to winterize their homes. To quote this article:

” The president was at Home Depot to urge Congress to approve incentives for Americans to spend money improving their home energy savings.

Doing so, he said,

“is one of the fastest, easiest and cheapest things we can do to put American back to work while saving money and reducing harmful emissions.”"

I think he has never tended to the realities of home ownership. Landlords have no reason to improve their properties as the renters pay the bill. The renters have no reason to put money into a place that isn’t their own assuming the landlord would even let them. Responsible home owners already do this stuff as it is called a simple word – maintenance. But people can’t do any of this if their jobs are insecure or threatened or promises of higher bills are coming. The actual unemployment rate in the USA is about 17%. It is rather brutal here and getting worse. Oh, I forgot to mention, they pick and choose how to count who is unemployed and who isn’t. Fun isn’t it?

There is one last parting thing about this concept of helping to “put Americans back to work” that the President of the USA didn’t figure out but my 8-yr-old daughter did.

“You winterize your place BEFORE winter not DURING.”

She also pointed out it is hard to take care of the outside stuff when it is so cold and there is so much snow and ice on the ground. Not so surprisingly, our 8-yr-old, who has never built anything or done much maintenance on anything, happens to be in agreement with the directions on the back of the caulking packages. It is supposed to be applied on a warm day above 50 degrees and at least 5 degrees above the dew point. Zero degrees Fahrenheit does not qualify. Trying to navigate the snow banks and ice does not count as a good weather day.

When the media and the government can’t fool an 8-yr-old girl, don’t let them fool you. Good now means bad and bad now means good. Cooling means warming and anything else follows the rules of the opposite is closer to the truth.

Oh, one last minor detail needs to be included. My 8-yr-old daughter doesn’t need a teleprompter.LOL!

Happy New Year and Brrrr, I am tired of Wisconsin weather!

Live Well,

Anah

For those hearing what is going on in the USA from the US media and government, take it all in with an extreme amount of skepticism. This isn’t a political statement but a neutral observation. As you will see, my 8 yr old daughter can see the blatant holes in what is being pushed. It is that completely lacking of common sense. Perhaps it is her Filipino blood, what Filipino doesn’t see corruption when they’ve grown up seeing it?

I won’t go into too much detail because there is so much of it. Generally, you can assume what is being said by the current US media and government to be the opposite of the truth. I will not say which you can trust as they all have their biases and goals. I will say you should turn to basic common sense that an 8-year-old has and only accept statements backed up with solid information.

What do I mean solid information? I mean data that has been taken from a lot of samples, been tested extensively, and has no political slant. We can’t trust what is being told us and we can’t even trust the data unless those presenting it can show exactly where they got it all from and how they got it so others can duplicate it. i.e. Follow the data (collected correctly) to where it may leads and not try to force data to meet our opinions.

That said, let me give a few examples. I’ll touch on the Swine Flu or the H1N1 virus, the latest global warming stuff, and an example of what is currently being promoted as a means of more jobs in the US economy.

First, the swine flu or the H1N1 virus gets the first tidbit on it. You have probably heard of the “horrible pandemic” that was going to infect many millions and kill multitudes if you didn’t get your vaccine shot now! ( I also got tired of people asking if I am going to get my FLU shot and H1N1 vaccine kasi daw I am buntis!) Read through this highly detailed piece from doctors about it.

Summary: The H1N1 is a mild bug that has a low rate of infection and low rate of killing people. The vast majority of the numbers are pure guesswork as they quit testing and assumed everyone had it as of August 30, 2009. The vaccine is posing to be a far greater risk than the flu bug.

On a personal note, all three of us had the swine flu or the symptoms that are said to go with it. We didn’t bother to go to the doctors to find out. We did what you always do when you have the flu. Wash your hands when you are healthy and stay home when you are sick. The headache was a major pain but the whole thing was rather tame for a couple of days then it passed. Or as my daughter says about this:

“Those people are nuts. They aren’t using their brain. It wasn’t that bad. Na Krong-Krong na!”

Anah

Consider this post a combination of a bit of a gripe I am venting and a true challenge to only those who are from the USA.

I have been told twice that “You are in America, so you should adopt American values.” However, they never define what those values are. So that is my challenge to any natural-born citizen of the USA. What are the supposed values of a citizen of the USA? (Guess this means Obama is ruled out from answering the question.)

What I will readily agree with is any immigrant should adapt to the primary language of the country they are moving too. The USA speaks English. It is incredibly arrogant to expect the natural-born citizens to speak the language of someone else when it is the choice of the immigrant to go to that nation. I am an ESL. I also work at a call center and I find it incredibly rude for a caller to demand “I want Spanish.” I work in a company that speaks English. The company is in the USA that speaks English. If you want to do business with us, speak English. If I went to Quebec or France, I would have to adapt to speaking French. If I went to Mexico or Spain, then I’m speaking Spanish.

I will also readily agree that a person needs to adapt to environmental issues, the laws, and the general culture of the area you have chosen to live in. Again, it is arrogant to expect others who live there to bend to your desires. As the immigrant whether it is from another nation or another city, you adapt to the cultural norms, don’t move there, or shut your mouth. What are the norms of the general culture? You obey the traffic laws, you be kind to others as they are to you, courtesy on the road, in the stores, etc. But none of this is any different than if I was visiting a friend’s house. Their house, their rules and I respect them or don’t visit.

But when you visit your friend’s house, you do not automatically change your values that define who you are to match the values of your friend. So what does moving to a different country have to do with changing your values? I ask this question..

“whose values are the example of “American values?”

Am I supposed to change my values to match those of a Democrat, Independent, or Republican? Should they match the values of Lance Armstrong, Brett Favre, or Michael Jordan? Am I supposed to use Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Ronald Reagan, or Bill Clinton as my role model?

Am I supposed to have a sound work ethic devoted to expecting to earn my wage or have a belief I should sit on my rear at home and be paid by others so I can count the number of hairs in my armpit? Whose values am I supposed to have? I would assume those, who say that ignorant line, believe I should adapt to their values as to what they think is right.

If that is the case, then I have yet another question. Why should I adopt their values as mine as opposed to adopting my husband’s values? I married him, not those spewing such ignorant babble. If one of those types of individuals is reading this, I will refer you to the Bill of No Rights, Article II.

“ARTICLE II — You do not have the right to never be offended.”

Translation: This country is based on freedom. It means freedom for everyone, not just you. If you do not like what I write, you have several choices. You can choose to never visit my website again, don’t read what I’m writing, or the best one is if you are getting upset about what I’m writing – Get a life and join the real world. Heck, try knitting. I hear it can be relaxing.

Until that time, values are what define each of us as individuals. My values say that I should be respectful and honor my parents and parent-in-laws and not tolerate garbage from others. I will work hard for my family, my parents, and my parent-in-laws. I will not be an uneducated, lazy, ignorant, professional couch potato aka loser.

Always remember this old “American value” – “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” At least that is what most children were taught.

Thanks for reading,

Anah

Obviously, I am an immigrant to the USA. If you read my blog at all, that much is very obvious. I am a bit more sensitive to a few topics such legal versus illegal immigration and the quality of life provided to my family in the nation I am living in. My views are based on that which is proven to work which happens to be conservative in nature. You can read my blog go figure out what that all means. But there are times when someone can say something that just sticks in your mind no matter what.

One such line came from a comment from someone surprising. The line was …

“Why would anyone who wasn’t born here (USA) want to come here (USA)? I will never understand.”

That line floored me. First, the ignorance of the statement astounded me. What stuck in my mind was I am from a different country and came here. She said that question to me, the legal immigrant. Did it dawn on that person’s mind who she was saying that too? For obvious reasons, relations are a bit strained between us now.

But let me focus on the line itself and a variety of related issues. As is the case in most of the world, there are significant portions of people who really never leave the area they were born in for a variety of reasons. Some flat out do not travel for whatever their reasons. Often, the same people do not bother reading much and just focus on their busy lives or the idiot box, the TV. Whatever the combination is, they end up with little written knowledge or personal experience outside of their world. This makes them ill-suited to understand life elsewhere. The attitude of the person comes into this equation as to whether they are willing to learn and strive to understand or are close-minded and define the world based on their limited experiences.

None of that excuses such ignorance of reality, the history of the nation she is living in, and the general public image of what the USA is. The basic level of reality that is being ignored is the entire basis of tourism. Some individuals want to see what the world is like. You can read about it but experiencing it is totally different. You can read about winter, watch movies about winter, but until you freeze your nose off and get stuck in a snow drift, you won’t understand what winter really is. Substitute whatever feature of any tourist destination of your choice and that is the basis for why people want to travel.

Ignoring the history and general public image of the USA as the land where freedoms are many and far greater than nearly any other nation on the planet and the assumed astounding wealth (as portrayed by Hollywood and understood by the general populace of the world) is nothing short of jaw-dropping ignorance. I can’t think of a better term for it. Between the freedoms and the standard of living, there are many reasons for visiting and immigrating to the USA. (Some may not be as well-founded in actual reality but I’ve written about that.)

Here is the greatest punch-line that person doesn’t get. She isn’t a Native American. Her ancestors immigrated here. Perhaps she should trace her family tree and ask why they decided to come to the USA or the land that was to be the USA.

Thank you,

Anah

As shown and can be expected, the next and final part of the 4 parts of government is built upon the previous three of Self-Government, Family Government, and Church Government. This one is Civil Government or the form most people think of when referring to the term government.

I promise to dig up all of the passages and post them here after Christmas, but in my haste and distraction of the trip I’m on and preparing for it, I forgot to jot down the references from the 2nd grade American Civics and History book. Sorry about that.

In any case, Civil Government is based on the election or appointing of leaders who have proven themselves in the Self-Government and Family Government steps. The standards for an elected official are nearly as steep as those for an overseer, elder or deacon as outlined in Part III. Why is a person of very high character required for an elected position in Civil Government?

The answer is obvious with just a little bit of thought. A civil servant or member of the civil government should tell the truth and be beyond reproach. They should not be for sale as that would compromise the civil government with corruption. The wisdom gathered from living a solid life demonstrating solid choices would be the grounds needed to be a trustworthy civil leader. From this, the civil government could be trusted and respected.

It goes without saying that most civil governments of today are a far cry from that with the depth of corruption at all levels and ignoring of the first step of Self-Government. The government of the USA was created with the primary focus on using the Bible as a reference for 38% of it. For 150 years with a fair share of mistakes included, the government of the USA held on to the Christian standards until the march until today gathered momentum. Instead of focusing on preserving the liberties of the individual by securing the rights of life, freedom, and prosperity or property and keeping the fruits of the individual’s labor, things have changed based on the whims of arrogance, greed, and juvenile wants. But I don’t want to take too much from my The Law book review.

Some will say that a good Christian should always obey the government as the Bible says all government is from God. These are the same ones who throw the term “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s” line. The problem is both arguments are taking the Bible out of context and missing the main points. Those who throw those lines around should join an investigative Bible study or 10 so they can get their statements right.

This is the part I’ll need to look up later but it does hold. The Bible tells us to obey and respect government. However, it also gives us clear directions as to when we are not to obey the government. Quite simply, we are to not follow the government when it turns it back on the laws of God in favor of the laws and thoughts of men.

Thanks,

Anah

Building up from Self-Government and Family Government is Church Government. This one may come as a bit of a surprise to many because what the Bible teaches likely will be very different from what is done according to the doctrine of some Christian denominations. Before you object though, do you follow the Bible or what men say? Do you believe the Bible is the Word of God? If so, what you may have been taught to believe by people will need to be re-examined. Will you go with the Word of God or the words of men?

The governance of a church is to be broken up into deacons, elders, and overseers. The pastor / priest or whatever you call it comes from the elders and to a degree the overseers. Each has their own duties but let me focus on the qualifications for these positions as it may come as a surprise. So you can double check what I am saying and what my 2nd grader’s curriculum says, you can refer to 1 Timothy 3:1-13, 1 Timothy 5:17-20, and Titus 1:1-9.

Let me post 1 Timothy 3:1-13 here. The other two portions confirm this. Please, read this section very carefully.

“ 1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. 11 Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13 For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

If you noticed, most of that is about the men serving in the role of a deacon / overseer / elder. The list of requirements is long but the one that jumps out is any bishop / deacon / overseer / elder/ pastor must be married and be raising or have raised a sound family. That sounds a little different from what I was taught.

What about us women? Look at verse 11. We are charged with being respectful, reverent to God, level headed, trustworthy and faithful in all things, and don’t lie or engage in gossip.

Next up is Civil Government. Isn’t this fun to find out such details?

Thanks,

Anah

In Part I from last week, the first form of government is self-government or basically being a responsible adult and not acting like a child or irresponsible teenager. Unfortunately, there is no age or physical growth requirement that automatically turns you into an adult. You might be an adult in the biologic sense but it doesn’t take much to find people in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and on up that never grew up emotionally or mentally. They never became a mature adult as they kept their focus on their selfish wants.

The second form of government builds on top of the first. The name of it is Family Government. Before I go into some of the details, this should be an easy one to figure out. The role of parents everywhere is to tend to the variety of needs of a child so they can grow into a mature adult. If the father or mother is not a mature adult, they can’t teach a child to be something they aren’t. To teach anything requires knowledge and experience, guiding a child to become a responsible, mature adult requires the parents to be responsible, mature adults. If you have someone who hasn’t matured or “grown up,” the father or mother will pass on their lack of maturity problems to their children handicapping the children in an increasingly challenging world.

We did a rather detailed exercise with our daughter in this lesson. Since most Filipino’s are Catholic or Christian, this is especially for you. A child is given the responsibilities of respecting, listening to, learning from and obeying their parents. That is about where many people stop and ignore the main bulk of the directions in the Bible.

The bulk of the directions are for the husband and the wife. The husband or father gets the longest and arguably the most difficult list. Combined there are 15 detailed directions for the adult couple. Two are for both, 7 are for the father and 6 are for the mother. These instructions are found in Deut. 6:4-9, Proverbs 31:10-31, Ephesians 5:25-33, Colossians 3:19-21, and 1 Peter 3:7. The men are to be the leader in the house. Praise the works of the wife, love your wife and be willing to sacrifice your life for her, do not be harsh with them, be considerate, respectful to your wife and be a role model to your children not being a hypocrite or they will turn from you.

The wife is to support the husband in areas where he is weak, work in ways to show the home is an honorable home, follow the leadership of the husband, and respect him. These instructions are found in Gen. 2:18, Proverbs 31:10-31, Ephesians 5:22-24, Ephesians 5:33, Colossians 3:18, and 1 Peter 3:1-6.

Before anyone gets any ideas that any of this gives them the freedom to treat the children or wives or husbands lesser because they aren’t living up to those terms, go back and read Self-Government. Nagging, whining, complaining, and other selfish ways are not what a responsible, mature adult does but what a child does. Also, the greatest demand is to put Christ in the center of your life and not your own wants. It falls on the adults to teach it to the children in their words and actions. Tag we are it. (Imagine how much the pressure is on us since we did this project with our daughter. No excuses at all.)

If you aren’t a Christian or oppose Christianity, know this crucial detail. This government structure I am detailing works – if the family is truly a Christian family in actions and not lip service.

Thanks,

Anah

As part of my prepared articles, we all could stand to benefit from some of the lessons my daughter is learning in her American Civics and History 2nd Grade class. I will not be overstepping any copyright issues but I will focus on the core four forms of government that the USA was founded upon.

The first form of government and the most important form of government is called Self-Government. You may initially wonder what that is but it goes by many names in many different cultures. Here is what it is and is not.

Self-Government is also known as self-control or taking responsibility for your own choices and actions. Self-Government is about you holding yourself accountable for your own actions using a set of 10 basic rules to go by. Those rules are the Ten Commandments. I know some out there do not want anything to do with Christianity but the Ten Commandments are a key foundation of the rule of law in the USA and many other lands. If they are followed, many, many problems in society are significantly reduced. If they are not followed, the society becomes much more dangerous.

How so? For the majority of the history of the USA, the government gave high priority to the rights of the parents to raise their children to be responsible citizens. That has a basis in the 5th Commandment or “Honor your father and your mother.” The 6th Commandment is declaring “You shall not murder.” The laws support this as does the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The 8th is about not stealing which is also supported by the law. The 9th is about not being a liar and saying false things about those in your life. In the legal sense, this is called defamation of character. The 7th is about staying faithful to your spouse and not acting like an animal. The 10th is about not being jealous. The 3rd was honored for a long time as well and still is to a degree by having standards on what can be said in media.

History in the USA is also very strong in supporting the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Commandments as the Founding Fathers were openly Christian and defended the rights of those to practice their Christian faith. The main concern was that the USA government would never do what England did and create an equivalent of the Anglican Church which was controlled by the King of England. It had nothing to do with Church staying out of government; it has everything to do with the government not dictating a single thing to the churches.

There are other names for Self-Government. The one that is known the best is being an adult. A child is learning about the world and sees things in black and white. A teenager is learning how to become an adult and is often irresponsible. An adult exercises wisdom gained through experience; takes responsibility for their own fiscal, emotional, and spiritual decisions; self-control in all things, and doing what needs to be done even if that means to sacrifice versus giving into their selfish wants like a child does.

Why is Self-Government the core foundation of all government? No agency at any civil government level whether it is national or state can control what goes on between your ears. They can try but no one can control what you think.

First, I need to define what facts are. Facts are not what someone thinks is true about any given subject. That is an opinion. Everyone has their own opinion

Facts are very simply those things which can be proven with science, validated history, and mathematics. If you do not know something or if there is a gap in knowledge about some event or process or equation, you don’t guess or assume. We know what we do know. What we don’t know we don’t know. Being honest intellectually means telling the truth of what is known and not. History and Science are a process of discovery of more facts.

Opinions are plentiful but the only way of knowing which one is correct requires checking it against the facts whether they be historical, scientific, or mathematical. If we did not do so, progress in anything would be halted because any debate would become an “I’m right. No, I’m right” never ending argument you would expect of 5-year-olds.

“The recipe for perpetual ignorance is: be satisfied with your opinions and content with your knowledge. “ – Elbert Hubbard (1856 – 1915)

“I’m not sure I want popular opinion on my side — I’ve noticed those with the most opinions often have the fewest facts.” – Bethania McKenstry

We focus on facts for incredibly obvious reasons. If you know them, you won’t be suckered by a liar. You won’t be conned into believing obvious lies. You’ll know when something is being done wrong. You’ll know what the heck you are talking about and not sound like a babbling fool to those who know the subject.

Without them, technology of all kinds and all fields of study would have never begun. Progress would not be made in the computer field, chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, medicine, and especially anything that requires a Design Engineer. That’s why we focus on facts. That is why we go to school to learn facts and how to apply them.

“Get the facts, or the facts will get you. And when you get them, get them right, or they will get you wrong.” – Dr. Thomas Fuller (1654 – 1734), Gnomologia, 1732

“Facts are facts and will not disappear on account of your likes. “ – Jawaharlal Nehru (1889 – 1964)

“Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. “ – John Adams (1735 – 1826), ‘Argument in Defense of the Soldiers in the Boston Massacre Trials,’ December 1770

“We can have facts without thinking but we cannot have thinking without facts. “ – John Dewey (1859 – 1952)

If something can be proven to not work or never have worked scientifically, mathematically or historically, those are facts. If the facts do not match up with your opinion, then that is too bad. Time to grow up, be an adult, and admit when you are wrong.

Thank you,

In this Health & Wealth day, I will once again focus on the economy of the USA. But I do not expect anyone to believe what I say. Instead, I will introduce you to two individuals named Peter Schiff and Gerald Celente.

Who are they? They are experts in their fields. Mr. Peter Schiff is an economist and Mr. George Celente specializes in predicting trends. What makes them any better than anyone else? They have been proven correct time and time again in their predictions. They have stuck by their predictions even when others laughed at them.

First, here is Peter Schiff. He specializes in Austrian Economics and the damage of Keynesian Economics. His predictions have been highly accurate so that makes him a sound person to look to for advice. Here is a clip about his stances.

As a review, those who laughed at Peter Schiff and disagreed with him said that the Dow Jones stock market would be at 16,000 by this time this year and advised to buy Merrill Lynch which was at $76.04, Goldman Sachs Group at $175.00, and Washington Mutual Inc. at $13.07. Peter Schiff said those were all bad ideas and to stay away from them. The other economists should have listened. As of the close of November 12th the Dow closed at 8,358.64, Merrill Lynch & Co Inc closed at 13.35, Goldman Sachs Group Inc set a new 52-week low reaching $64.54, and Washington Mutual Inc closed at 0.063

You can listen to more of what Peter Schiff at Part 1 of 6, 2 of 6, 3 of 6, 4 of 6, 5 of 6, and 6 of 6. He has written a piece named Just stop paying your mortgage that is partially sarcastic and partially truthful. The reasons why match much of what Gerald Celente has predicted.

The highly respected Mr. Celente of The Trends Research has predicted Food Riots, Tax Rebellions and more to happen in the USA within the next 4 years. Here is his shortened prediction:

“Celente says that by 2012 America will become an undeveloped nation, that there will be a revolution marked by food riots, squatter rebellions, tax revolts and job marches, and that holidays will be more about obtaining food, not gifts.”

Here he is talking about it with a variety of hosts:

If you think that I’m being pessimistic or they might be wrong, think again. What they are warning about is beginning. The Federal Credit Crisis tab is at $5 Trillion and Climbing.

What got the USA to this point? Let me summarize what Mr. Schiff and Mr. Celente are saying.

The USA has not had or pursued an energy program for over 30 years while the rest of the world has. The Congress is still blocking a comprehensive plan. The various entitlement programs are killing the ability to fund the needed features and it will get much worse. The USA has also overextended itself militarily just like England, Spain and France did before. It is a financial drain that can’t be sustained. The production capacity of the country has been exported due to taxes being far too high on companies (2nd highest in the world). That leaves a false GNP based on spending our way into huge debt. Both Republicans and Democrats are to blame for this mess created over several decades. Baseline – Government is the problem. The debt is about to be called in and collected.

Contrary to what some believe and hope, NO President of the USA can change the course the USA is on. They do not have the legal power, the means, or the collective brain power to get out of it. The hole is too deep. All they can do is either the political suicidal move of doing nothing and let the corrections run its course or more government intervention which will make matters far worse.

I welcome you to do your own research. These two guys found through those links are a solid place to start. It isn’t going to be pretty in the USA so get ready for the ride.

Thanks for reading,

Anah
