I would like to share this from Dr. Mercola’s Website:

And You Thought You Had a Bad Day? — Watch this Incredibly Inspiring Video

No matter who you are, there are moments when you will feel the world is too much — days when you want to pull up the covers and half-sleep in bed until nightfall.

This is normal. It’s an integral part of building anything remarkable, whether a business, a relationship, or a life. Expanding your sphere of comfort and abilities comes with a cost: repeated self-doubt.

The above video may put things in perspective. In your moments of self-doubt, watch it and meditate on all of the things you’ve done that you once considering impossible.

Get back up. Bigger and better things are waiting for you.

Next…

Most Amazing Rendition of Stand By Me You Have Ever Heard

From the award-winning documentary, “Playing For Change: Peace Through Music,” comes the first of many “songs around the world” being released independently. This amazing version of “Stand by Me” brought a smile to my face, and I hope it will do the same for you.

Watch it from beginning to end—you won’t regret it. This cover of Stand By Me was recorded by completely unknown artists in a street virtual studio all around the world!

It all started with a base track—vocals and guitar—recorded on the streets of Santa Monica, California, by a street musician named Roger Ridley. The base track was then taken to New Orleans, Louisiana, where Grandpa Elliott—a blind singer from the French Quarter—added vocals and harmonica while listening to Ridley’s base track on headphones. In the same city, Washboard Chaz’s added metal percussions.

From there, it just gets better and better: The producers took the resulting mix all through Europe, Africa, and South America, adding new tracks with multiple instruments and vocals, which were assembled into this final final version — all done with a simple laptop and some microphones. Amazing!

Thank you,

Anah

If I was a conspiracy theorist, I would conclude that many of the actions of the US Congresista are acts of treason. If the laws they are promoting are by well-thought-out design, then all of the members of Congress and the Presidents who signed them into law should be held accountable in a court of law.

There are two other options that are possible. It is possible that those in Congress and the Federal Government are so detached from the real world (Hoy Gising!!) that they are clueless. It would explain why so many things they are doing only end up ruining the country instead of helping it.

The other option is the school systems and universities have gotten so bad here that those who run for office have become profoundly retarded. I really can’t think of a good way of spinning the insanity we hear. They sure are not following basic logic. Here are some examples of their treason / cluelessness / profound stupidity:

Despite massive numbers of the American population being highly opposed to Amnesty for those who break the law in coming here, the Senate leader still wants to push it through. Despite 2.4 million layoffs in 2008 and a current rate of 500,000 more layoffs a month, Senate leader Harry Reid wants to INCREASE the amount of legal foreign workers by 138,000 a month. Naturally, you want more workers when your existing workers are getting laid off in the hundreds of thousands. Far fewer jobs and a deepening recession as companies go into survival mode, home sales continue to plunge and foreclosures rise, obviously mean we need more workers. Someone needs to send Dr. Phil to Congress and examine them all.

But hey, they aren’t done yet. Congress and the President have opted to nearly unanimously make certain there are many more layoffs, bankruptcies and foreclosures. To “protect the children,” the children must suffer. The Consumer Product Safety Commission created by the HR 4040 bill nearly single-handedly will break the backs of schools, businesses and households by increasing the cost to ridiculous levels on all items sold for use with children 12 and under.

Want to start up a business and build it from bottom up? Don’t bother making anything for kids though. You will be out of business before you start. But when the government is busy killing off the businesses of 1.9 million farmers, jacking up the cost of food, and making the cost of raising a child incredibly high (cost of the tests being absorbed into the cost of the product or the bankruptcy that kills off small business and promoting the giant companies), we can pretty much start giving up on the American Dream of ensuring a brighter future for our children. The government is too busy destroying the country.

The US Government should keep in mind another quote from Albert Einstein. Look to the photo for it.

Thank you,

Anah

Perhaps Goryo and I are just different because we have a tendency to question and not follow most traditions. Or we just stumble into good ideas with some blind luck.

In any case, many people make resolutions for New Years then see how long they are able to keep them. Sooner or later though the person ends up breaking the resolution whether it was to quit smoking or lose some weight or whatever the goal actually was.

To me it sounds like we are setting ourselves up for failure. The culture in the USA reinforces the need to make and break those New Year resolutions as a standard part of life in the USA. Let me pose a question to all. Why do we need an accepted occasion to make changes in our life? What is the point? Instead of going with the flow of what everyone else is doing, why not make changes for personal reasons at a time of your choosing when you figure out the change is needed?

Let me give you an example, this past August I decided to quit drinking sodas in general and Coke in specific. I did it for the sake of my health. The end result was I feel much better and I easily lost a lot of extra weight with very few changes to my diet in general. Perhaps I stumbled into the key. Don’t do something because it is the “thing to do” but do it for a well-thought out and solid reason.

Do I have any New Year’s Resolutions? Nope, I would recommend that you rethink your positions as well. I was taught very early on to take responsibility for my choices and to stick with them. This wasn’t based on opinion either. I had to be able to support my decisions and defend them. I recommend the same.

Does that make this Vested Wisdom? Wisdom is knowledge gained from experience and knowing what is right and wrong. Life has taught me this much. I can only hope to share this tidbit I have gained. I look forward to the lessons I can learn from you.

Thank you,

Anah

If you have followed my blog, my husband and I are very much in favor of homeschooling over the public schools for many, many reasons. This is an example why.

In a small Wisconsin town named Blanchardville, Wis., population 806, an English teacher got the approval of the Principal to introduce these questions for a discussion on “tolerance” at the senior level. All of this was deemed part of a “comprehensive curriculum in critical thinking skills, preparing the students to make decisions on their own in college and beyond.” One parent took exception to these as her son was thoroughly disturbed that he was forced to answer them.

Here are the questions:

1. What do you think caused your heterosexuality?
2. When and how did you decide you were a heterosexual?
3. Is it possible that your heterosexuality is just a phase you may grow out of?
4. Is it possible that your heterosexuality stems from a neurotic fear of others of the same sex?
5. Do your parents know that you are straight? Do your friends and/or roommate(s) know? How did they react?
6. Why do you insist on flaunting your heterosexuality? Can’t you just be who you are and keep it quiet?
7. Why do heterosexuals feel compelled to seduce others into their lifestyles?
8. A disproportionate majority of child molesters are heterosexual. So you consider it safe to expose children to heterosexual teachers?
9. With all the societal support marriage receives, the divorce rate is spiraling. Why are there so few stable relationships among heterosexuals?
10. Statistics show that lesbians have the lowest incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. Is it really safe for a woman to maintain a heterosexual lifestyle and run the risk of disease and pregnancy?
11. Considering the menace of overpopulation, how could the human race survive if everyone were heterosexual?
12. Would you want your child to be heterosexual, knowing the problems that s/he would face?

Now I will turn this over to my husband’s reactions since he was a former public school teacher himself.

“This is their definition of critical thinking skills? When kids aren’t taught how to budget, they push this stupidity on them? I’ll answer the questions for the kid.

1. Genetics
2. Conception
3. No, it is hardwired.
4. No, it is and always has been normal for the entirety of the human race.
5. Yes. Yes. It is expected. Silly thing called genetics and propagation of the species.
6. I don’t. I do. What is the point? The only ones flaunting it were trained to be immoral by teachers like you.
7. We don’t have to. 98% already are. Human history, basic biology, do you need to attend a sex education class?
8. Disproportionate? I would expect the proportions to be 98% heterosexual vs 2% homosexual. Anything outside of that would be disproportionate. I’m not concerned if a teacher wants to stick their genitalia into someone else’s crap. I’m more concerned if a teacher is spewing crap like this out of their mouth and has it swimming in their head.
9. Because of immorality being pushed in the public schools and media by individuals and groups like you. You took the Bible out and all the immoral stuff skyrocketed. This isn’t rocket science.
10. You really need to attend a sex education class if you can’t understand the basics of male and female reproduction. The guys have the plugs. The women have the outlets. It is kinda hard to make two outlets mingle. The risk of disease is really low in a solid marriage and pregnancy isn’t a disease. Why are we having this ridiculous discussion?
11. Uh, nearly everyone is. If you want to be the first to go, you are welcome to remove yourself from the population.
12. Yes, then I would homeschool my children because of the problem of public school.

What does any of this have to do with an English class? This poorly thought out exercise wouldn’t make it into a debate class. How can critical thinking skills be taught when critical thinking skills weren’t used to write the lesson plan? These are bogus and obviously leading questions designed to manipulate a student’s position. It is no wonder that most kids by 10th grade will not participate as they think the teachers are a joke.

Here is a critical thinking exercise for the teacher. Please explain to the class how choosing to unzip your pants and stick your genitals into an orifice or butt designed expel waste full of bacteria and rotting food is remotely smart or natural especially since that act rips and tears the inside. How is that better than just keeping your pants zipped? Why should our system and taxpayers be burdened with the costs (especially medical and legal costs) of a lifestyle that has no benefit to society? Explain how choosing to unzip your pants and choosing to put your genitalia in an orifice not designed for entry is the same as being born Asian, African, European, Native American, male or female.

The students should walk out of the class in protest.”

Well, hubby will not insult an individual but he will point out when actions or concepts are dumb. And if they can’t take the criticism, that’s their problema.

Thanks for reading,

Anah

Note: Thanks to hubby for answering the questions above.

This also factors into their predictions as what is said by the politicians doesn’t stay in reality and the consequences of their planned interference.

For this we can look at the proposed Cap & Trade and the proposed massive infrastructure project.
The wide ranging infrastructure goals he’s claimed will have a tough time in reality. To quote Obama:

“help save or create at least 2.5 million jobs, while rebuilding our infrastructure, improving our schools, reducing our dependence on oil, and saving billions of dollars.”

That is ignoring the reality of how the oil is actually used. It is also ignoring the process needed in designing the projects, having qualified and experienced crews executing the projects after all of the permits and studies are done, and any number of the details you can find out from anyone that works in a Highway Department. Making schools energy efficient is irrelevant when the performance of the schools was ruined by Federal interference. That undercut the science and math needed to direct, design and operate the projects. It doesn’t touch the legal challenges he’ll face over his citizenship status choking off any of his plans; the construction companies that will be up in arms at work taken away; and any other group that will go to court.

All of that doesn’t take into account the proposed Cap & Trade which would destroy any effort to help the economy by destroying all phases of it. As has been pointed out before in the Global Warming Craze part I and II, data seen in the graphs showing the temps are dropping after rising courtesy of air conditioner installations near the weather stations, and additional findings point that the greenhouse gases are not a likely cause. But don’t take my word for it; take Obama at his own words.

Yes, he said he intends to make our energy bills skyrocket. How will that help production, manufacturing, elderly on fixed incomes, cost controls on products, those barely making it now leading to more foreclosures, those trying to dig out of debt, or any industry such as those who make the materials used in infrastructure?

This is why Celente and Schiff have predicted very bad times for the USA. Let me add in one other factor, the production and manufacturing of any nation is their basis for recovering from a depression or recession. Congress has chased away the core part of our manufacturing base requiring the USA to be dependent on foreign investment. If the economy is poorly managed at the federal level, the country is doomed when the investors see that the USA is a poor investment risk and turn elsewhere.

They are proposing even more spending backed up by no means of monetary generation. No taxes can cover it especially if the economy is gutted by a foolish attempt to stop CO2 which isn’t even a problem. To quote a couple prominent scientists:

“Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in the history … . When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” — U.N. IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning Ph.D. environmental physical chemist.

“CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another … . Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so … . Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot.” — Dr. Takeda Kunihiko, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University in Japan.”

The question at the end of the video holds. There are many promises and many statements but they avoid the primary question. How is it all getting paid for? Lots of promises and lots of expectations of people paying huge price tags on many things are being thrown around so control can be maintained.

How are the taxpayers supposed to support the runaway spending? With what?

Thanks,

In this extension of the first entry, let us look at how History checks out in the Bible and do a very interesting exercise. Again, the Bible is minimally an ancient text written so others would understand what was written at that time. Just because today is different than the past doesn’t mean what is described in the past isn’t true. We don’t know as we weren’t there. Standard daily life in the Philippines is often compared to life in the USA 60 years ago minus the cell phones. That is today. Obviously, life is different based on where you live. It is massively different if it is in a different place in the distant past.

How does the Bible stack up to known historical facts? It performs amazingly well. In many cases, the accuracy of the Bible is stunning as it is one of a few texts (and sometimes the only text) in which many kings, princes and locations are mentioned. In many cases such as King Nebuchanezzar, the Bible mentioned them long, long before historical evidence was found in archeological digs. For a while, the Bible mentioning King Nebuchanezzar was considered evidence the Bible wasn’t true – until the evidence was found that the Bible was right. The Bible is so accurate that it has 44 kings recorded in it in correct chronological order and perfect spelling.

One such new proof comes from Jeremiah 38:1 where it mentions Gedaliah son of Pashhur. I can’t begin to even pronounce those names. Now there is concrete archeological evidence supporting it and others mentioned in Jeremiah 37:3.

This could keep going on and on but I’ll let you dig into the topic if you want to. Let us shift to a fun exercise that requires 2 passages in the Bible, a blank piece of paper or two, and a pencil.

Turn to Job 40:15-24 for the first one and Job 41 for the second. Do not decide what it is just sketch it one part at a time. Here is one hint on the Job 40 section. That isn’t a hippo or elephant. The identity is not an animal known today. Job 41 definitely is not a crocodile but some sea creature. Remember, these are texts referring to common knowledge of the times back then.

“ 15 “Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; He eats grass like an ox. 16 See now, his strength is in his hips, And his power is in his stomach muscles. 17 He moves his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit. 18 His bones are like beams of bronze, His ribs like bars of iron. 19 He is the first of the ways of God; Only He who made him can bring near His sword. 20 Surely the mountains yield food for him, And all the beasts of the field play there. 21 He lies under the lotus trees, In a covert of reeds and marsh. 22 The lotus trees cover him with their shade; The willows by the brook surround him. 23 Indeed the river may rage, Yet he is not disturbed; He is confident, though the Jordan gushes into his mouth, 24 Though he takes it in his eyes, Or one pierces his nose with a snare.”

I would suggest you look up the reports of the Mokele Mbembe in the Congo as the description is nearly the same. What is it? Sketch them and find out. The picture may include what the entry on leviathan describes.

Before I get into this entry, let me set the stage correctly. Based on all of the extensive records, the oldest book in the Bible is Job. The book of Job was written about 3000 years ago with the newest book in the Bible having been written down 1500 years ago. The books before Job were passed down through oral tradition much like what happened with the Navaho Native Americans. All this means one crucial point; it doesn’t matter if you believe in the Bible or not as it will always remain an ancient text.

Like any other book written by an author, the words are selected so that those of that time and area will easily understand what they are referring too or using basic common knowledge to make a point. Just because life is different now than it was then doesn’t make what was written then false. It just means things were different in the past.

With that in mind, I ask that you read each of these and ask yourself some basic questions. How did they know this so long ago when we consider it to be a relatively recent discovery? What was life like then? How did they get this information?

First is Psalms 8 with a focus on verse 8.

“ 8 The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas.”

“Paths of the seas” would be the currents. But this wasn’t common knowledge until a few hundred years ago. How was it known nearly 3000 years ago?

Next is Ecclesiastes 1:6-7.

“6 The wind goes toward the south, And turns around to the north; The wind whirls about continually, And comes again on its circuit. 7 All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again.”

Verse 6 is the jet stream. The jet stream was theorized in 1937 and proven in 1944. The Bible predates it by thousands of years. Verse 7 is the entire hydrologic cycle. Same questions apply.

Next up is Job 28:25.

“ 25 To establish a weight for the wind, And apportion the waters by measure.”

That is the definition of atmospheric pressure which was discovered in the 1640’s but written in the oldest book in the Bible.

Interesting stuff isn’t it? Just wait for next week’s and part 2.

Thanks,

Anah

continued from Part I

To quote:

“There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the earth’s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the earth.”

The sun has what are called solar cycles of giving off more heat and then less. Some scientists are concerned about a new ice age because the sun has gone quiet. This has all followed mostly predictable patterns. Usually, they are 11 year cycles. The earth is tilted at a 20 some degree angle so when the North end is pointed closest to the sun, it is summer in the north and winter in the south. That is the standard seasonal patterns. But the earth also has a wobble where it can sometimes be a little be closer to the sun at any given season or year or a bit further away. This gets us warmer and cooler seasons depending on the wobble. Match all that up and you get the charts of predictable increases and decreases in temperature as recorded for 400 years.

All of that is a combination of a little bit of 2nd grade science and recorded measurements. As for CO2 going up and down after the temperature changes, this is the simplified version. Plants grow better when it is warmer. More plants mean more food for more animals that breathe, poop and die making more CO2. The colder it gets the fewer plants leads to less food and fewer animals supported.

Let me summarize the effect Cap & Trade will have on the environment. Imagine you have an elephant with a bad case of diarrhea. So you have a batch of politicians swoop in to cure the ailment. They get in a circle and talk about what to do and ignore the scientists, veterinarians, and everyone else because politicians know best. They break their huddle and declare they have the cure!! To cure the diarrhea of the elephant, they need to give a tissue to a mosquito when it sneezes!!

In other words, the “solution” to combat this “man-made” problem will do absolutely nothing. Lesson in humility – As far as warming or cooling the environment goes from the perspective of the planet Earth; we are just a piece of mosquito snot.

What will it do to the economy? That would be a topic for another day. I can summarize it by saying it will do nothing good.

Here is one other really, really important detail. Since 1998, the temperatures have been cooling, not warming. This winter is expected to be one of the coldest in the last couple of decades.

Also, ask this one question. What are the motivations of the “scientist”? Who is paying them? There seems to be a high percentage chance their results will more than likely be favorable to their employer.

Thanks,

Anah

Reading on how our government is going to attack and cure the “greatest danger of our time” in Global Warming. We have to stop the warming with a Cap & Trade policy on the USA!! Ahh, the sky is falling and we are all going to die!!!

Sheesh, this is so pathetic. If people did their research, you would find a similar craze happened back in the 1990’s. It was about the same with a twist. Aaaaaah!!! The sky is falling; we are all going to die!! The temperatures are dropping and we will enter a new Global ICE AGE.

Gee, it warmed up. Now, we hear the reverse. They keep on saying it is getting warmer and the oceans will boil away. Apparently, they can’t read a thermometer, comprehend numbers, or understand 2nd grade science. Then you factor in the politicians (mainly lawyers) coming to save the world when they can barely do basic math.

Okay, details time.

All the fear is about the evil CO2 gases that supposedly are going to kill us all!! Those greenhouse gases are deadly! Let us look at what the numbers say. The primary greenhouse gas at 95% is water vapor. CO2 only accounts for 3.62% and it is a very necessary item in the ecological system. Plants take it in and grow becoming food for animals. Of that 3.62%, 96.6% of the CO2 comes from nature. Only 3.4% comes from humans. That comes out to a grand total of 0.28% of greenhouse gas coming from humans. To picture it, imagine any coin that is about 2 mm in thickness. Now stand that up on a line that is 100 meters long. That is it for the entire human race’s contribution.

How much of that tiny percentage is made by the USA as opposed to China and India which dwarfs the USA in production and people? Not much at all.

So what causes all of that warming we are experiencing? For this we can turn to my daughter’s 2nd grade science book. The number one source is the sun. Number two is geothermal or magma / the mantle / volcanoes. The temperature readings on the other planets in our solar system showed they all went up when ours did. Basic logic means they have the same cause of warming – the sun.

Here is the list of problems. First, you get the temperature data from weather stations. Unfortunately, a large part of them are highly inaccurate because of interference from people not following the guidelines. Bad data will mess up the result of any equation; however, the equations are off too. With bad data and questionable equations, what good are computer models of projected weather patterns when those models can’t agree with recorded data used to test the validity of the model?

What did those computer projections of the UN forget? They “forgot” to factor in the sun. That means the computer models were incorrectly programmed. All of it conveniently ignores what 31,072 scientists have agreed on and that CO2 changes come AFTER the temperature changes.

to be continued….

There is one key detail on the movie Twilight. It opened in the USA on November 21st but its Philippine opening is stalled until November 26th. Which means anything I type here would be a spoiler to other Twilight fanatics in the Philippines. Hi Sheng!! wabs yah!

Shall I comment on the acting or how close it sticks to the book? Everybody has their own opinion so I won’t taint your experience by giving you mine. My standards for movies may not be your standards for movies so I’ll default to the gist behind this quote.

“You get fifteen democrats in a room, and you get twenty opinions.” – Senator Patrick Leahy (1940 – ), May 1990 (He’s a democrat too.)

Shall I tell you how the story goes? Well, the movie is based off of a popular book series so if you know about the movie it is because you read the books. That makes it rather pointless to tell you about the story since you have already read the books if you care about the movie Twilight. If you don’t know about the movie Twilight or the books, then this post isn’t for you. That would put you in the category of my husband. He never read them, doesn’t care to read them, and was just fine in ignoring the movie as he does to the vast majority of them. (If they are based on a comic book, he’ll likely watch them though.)

You can probably predict how going to the movie with him went. The quantity of guys going with their dates or wives was rather small. Including my husband, the number of adult guys was 7 and the theater was rather full. Go figure, this is what is called a “chick flick.” So a lot of women, teenagers and not many adult guys which makes me a lucky one.

Why did my hubby go with me? Our anniversary is coming up and I won’t be here for it. So he decided to go with me to “hold the popcorn” and spend time with me. Yup, I am a lucky gal…kinda. See he can be a bugger at times. He knows just how far he can push being a bugger before triggering a tampo. He scattered his comments about the movie, during the movie, just enough to get a smack from me but not enough for tampo.

His comments:

“What was that spell Voldemort cast that killed Cedric Diggory and turned him into a vampire?”

“Will the actor’s next roll allow him to have a character with the initials F and G or will it be based in the past so he can catch A and B? He already has C, D, and E covered.”

“Since the girl brought up superheroes, can’t they get Tony Stark to refit his Iron Man armor to shoot solar rays and wipe the vampires out? Or do we have to wait for Blade to carve them up?”

“Hey, James said that Edward wasn’t strong enough. Edward said that he is strong enough to kill James. James better be careful or he won’t like it if he makes Edward angry. But wouldn’t transforming into a gamma radiated Hulk vampire cure the vampirism? That would doubly “suck” for the girl because it would not only be a “drain” on her but she’d lose her hair from radiation poisoning.”

Yes, he is that much of a smartass bugger. But he is my kind, gentle, thoughtful, smartass bugger. (sa walay pabor pabor haha!)

During the romantic portions, he closed his eyes trying to identify the smell of the candy being eaten by someone nearby. It was a cherry flavored candy that was either cotton candy or Laffy Taffy. Just like the other 6 adult guys, he was obviously bored.

I just know he’s going to ask for a full massage in return. And yes, I am hoping to watch the movie again in the Phils. *wink*

Thank you,

Anah
