The Time is Near

Last year I had commented on the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk and later reported on my participation in it.

Well, the time is near again for the next Memory Walk. Alzheimer’s is a disease that wastes away the memory of a person until they pass away. My hubby’s grandfather passed away from it. He described it as a challenging way to see someone pass as they progressively forget who you are.

This charity drive is a worthwhile fund raiser for the Alzheimer’s Association designed to generate more awareness and funds for Alzheimer support, research and the care of those afflicted with it.

Also, it is a healthy way of supporting a cause. My daughter and I are starting now on the training so her 7 yr old legs can have enough endurance to make it the entire 2-3 miles. But the more the merrier and leaders are needed for the teams.

So doing my part of the annual drive to work on this issue starts once again. Welcome to the club and get those tennis shoes brushed off for some walking. I will need some extra company as my mother-in-law has to step down for medical reasons.

Who would like to jump in and lace up the tennis shoes with me?
