What's Da Buzz?

Thanks to those unpleasant visitors from a few weeks back, I have a new passion of finding and informing all of you about the law, the Internet, and computers.

I would not be so bold as to give you the “how to” but rather inform you of “where to” go to get the detailed information. Even though I have some skills in this arena, I know when I’m shooting a BB gun and who the big guns are. So let me introduce you to the field of computer forensics and the big guns in it.

First, what is the computer forensic field? Remember how I’ve said being able to track things is at the heart of the Internet? The same holds true for computer systems, emails and more. The Internet at the very basic level is a connection of computers communicating. A computer at the very basic level keeps track and stores all information you put on it. This information is often retrievable by a highly skilled individual or company even if you deleted it.

This information can and often is used in a variety of business or individual court cases that range in their type of cases. Think you deleted those files and emails for good? Think again. Unless you flat out destroyed the right hardware parts, it can be recovered and held against you or for you in court.

The best option is to lead a clean law abiding life and running a sound business based on legit practices. Then when the time comes when you may need assistance as offered in the links above, it will be used for you not against you.
