Summary of Schiff and Celente – Part 3 of 5

This part of the Summary of Schiff and Celente focuses on the (un)intended consequences on the prosperity of the nation. Let me clarify why I have the “un” in parentheses. I am not willing to declare the actions of the US Congress, Presidents, and the Supreme Court to be or not be intentional acts to guide the country to where it is today. I will point out the options. The Federal Government has been guided into near ruin which would make such actions high treason or it is the result of sheer incompetency and arrogance or a combination of both. You can decide.

Using a recent example, the automotive companies are back for yet another bailout. So they run to the Congress for bailouts when Congress is the one guilty for setting burdensome vehicle standards on the automotive company that undercut their ability to be competitive in the global market. Congress tampered with a market they had no business in. Not surprising to anyone, the US automotive industry is failing. When you have the Federal government now saying that it must not fail, you have the recipe why much more will fail.

What made the nation great were the people, hard work, creativity, innovation, and the freedom to fail or succeed based on your efforts. Congress and the Federal government didn’t make the country great. They were charged with making certain contracts were upheld and the people were safe from external forces.

As this writer points out in their opinion piece, the Federal government likes to call their intervention “social engineering.” However, their social engineering always fails. We have seen this in the health care industry in many ways, automotive industry, and any industry or aspect of life the Federal Government illegally interferes with such as public education. Why anyone expects the Federal Government to fix the economy, health care and the rest is beyond me. If you have dental work and the first dentist is incompetent and creates many more problems, you go to a different dentist to fix it. You don’t go back to the same incompetent dentist in hopes that they might have gotten a clue. That’s insanity. If you do the same thing, you will get the same result. If you do that, you don’t have the right to whine and complain. Do something.

Because of the actions of the Federal Government and the same thinking being done at the state levels and personal finances, we know and the rest of the world knows America’s Broke. What Schiff and Celente are observing and predicting is exactly what is happening. Instead of repealing the restrictive laws and butting out, the government will continue the intervention and the bailouts making it far, far worse. The Congress and President have now added $7 trillion more to the $53 trillion our children and grandchildren are expected to fork out because of our selfishness and lack of control. It cannot be sustained. This country will go bankrupt like they are predicting.

When the nation turns its back on responsibility, accountability and basic self-governance, we would be complete fools to expect anything less from those who make the laws or work in the bureaucracies. If the individual is taught not to govern themselves, why then would we trust a collection of those individuals enhanced by the corrupt nature of government to care one bit about us and tend to our medical, education and other needs?

I will leave you with this quote from a Founding Father.

“A general dissolution of the principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy…. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but once they lose their virtue, they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader…. If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the people, they will never be enslaved. This will be their great security.” – Samuel Adams
