What's Da Buzz?

Hot air balloons are something rarely if ever seen in the Philippines. So when we were visiting Goryo’s parents, they felt it would be an experience for us to see a collection of fancy hot air balloons all in one place.

The intentions were good. The hot air balloons were there. I learned a lot of small details such as the top of the balloon are called the envelope and they can’t take off if the wind gets up to 10 mph.

So everything was in place and these photos show some of the sights.

However, there was a small problem. Mother Nature did not agree with the hot air balloon presenters. The wind kept on picking up speed and their balloons couldn’t get off the ground. Basic translation, it was rather boring. I probably could have sung the song 99 Red Balloons for the sarcastic fun of it. But, Ma Nature gave me another distraction.

The grasshoppers were out and ever so kindly posing for me. I must note a detail though. I have eaten fried grasshoppers (yum lol!) in the past. But I really can do without them landing on my lips.
