2 Comments Personality Traits around Us
As I’ve said before, the difference between the Philippines and the USA is massive. My estimate is life is 90% different between the two countries. The 10% that is the same has to deal with things that go beyond culture, heritage, economic issues and more. What is the same is the variety of attitudes present.
Some people are talkers, doers, or passive and quiet. You’ve got those who think the world rotates around them and those who are humble. There are those you would call a saint and others a version of Satan. The nice people are around as well as the jerks and bullies.
All that is true about people but when you sit back and watch the world around you it applies to all. There are scientific studies to back up what is obvious to one who watches. But animals have the same kinds of personalities too.
We like to watch how the birds behave at our bird feeder. Most get their fill of food and get along just fine. We have doves eating off the ground what the chickadees and cardinals spill. Most of the time, the doves are laid back and don’t care how close we get. But there is one chickadee that has a bad attitude and bullies the other chickadees and even the bigger cardinals. The bird tries to keep all the other birds away from the bird feeder!!
But the one that really showed their personality was a member of Wisconsin’s state bird – a red-breasted robin. We met this spirited bird when visiting a friend nearby. This sign of spring in Wisconsin was attempting to drive them out of their home and out of his teritoryo or turf. Every morning, this bugger would peck on their bedroom window until they woke up. It wouldn’t stop chirping angrily at them and even swooping at them. Mayabang na ibon lol!
Our meeting with this bird ended up with us taking the car to the car wash. We think he must have gotten some friends over to land on the tree branches above our car. It is tough to believe only one bird could have so much poop in them. Our car looked like it was covered in white and black polka dots! Weeee buti nlang the next day, binagyo kami so libre car wash!
