There is a disease in this country that is ripping it apart from within. It is a disease that is quite common in the USA and I could only speculate as to the cause. The disease is political correctness. My guess is it comes from an incredibly over protective government that won’t let anyone’s feelings get hurt thus over-regulates every little aspect of life whether or not it has the legal power to do so in the Constitution.
One of the main targets under attack is Christianity, Jesus, the Bible and by extension Christmas. Atheists with the help of the ACLU and groups like Freedom from Religion attack and bully any public display located anywhere despite what the very clear wordings are in the Constitution. If you are unaware of what it says, it is printed clearly in the 1st Amendment.
“Amendment 1 – Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Freedom of religion not freedom from religion and it restricts Congress from making a law regarding it not the baloney shoved out there today. Their main thing they stick to is 8 words from a letter from Thomas Jefferson to a congregation in Danbury ensuring that the US government wouldn’t repeat what England did in the creation of the Anglican Church where the King of England was also the head of the church.
Here is one key point that is overlooked. Thomas Jefferson was not a signatory on the USConstitution or a Framer. Taking his word to interpret the intent of the US Constitution would be to take the word of any other non-signatory President to overturn the clear meanings of the Constitution which would make the Constitution meaningless.
So for those who do not like me saying Merry Christmas to my readers. I give you these two video clips.
Now we may not support the Santa Claus part of Christmas but this one proves a point.
Remember the phrase “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me?” To those who don’t like it, go live in a 3rd world country for a year and grow up instead of being such thin-skinned wimps and cowardly bullies.
Maligayang Pasko po sa lahat! (Merry Christmas to all!!)
Thank you,
Anah
