Goal Setting and Planning

[ad#inlinkunit]

This topic strikes to the heart of why I have been posting the information about Social Security, the economic issues of the USA, political leadership and more. What happens in Washington DC does not stay in Washington DC. The decisions made impact every single one of us on a very personal level. Let me explain this a bit.

http://www.successforgoalsetting.comLike many, many Filipinas, I am looking for a way to improve the lives of not only my husband and children but also my parents, siblings, and extended relatives while serving my in-laws as well. These are our goals. Either we build wealth here in the USA and be the focal point by which my parents, siblings and their children can immigrate here or we build wealth and maybe move to the Philippines to run business concepts after my bana’s nanay and tatay are no longer with us.

If you are reading that a few times, you will pick up that those two goals require the same generation of money but completely different processes. One requires getting property here while the other is against it. There are many differences between the two. My hubby does remind me that he has no problem working towards either goal but we can’t work towards both. He is a patient man but he also wants a direction.

He also understands the decision isn’t mine alone. Who gets elected as the next President has numerous challenges to deal with. One of the most important is the financial future of this country and will the freedoms my husband grew up with remain or be stripped away? Some of what each candidate says has him and I very concerned. Some of what one of those candidates says has us terrified if he gets in office. There is no doubt about it. The USA is at a very sensitive time in its existence.

As the dollar value decreases, it becomes harder to support family back at home as the exchange rate worsens. As the exchange rate worsens, both goals become increasingly difficult. We do truly wish government would get out of the way of the people making this country great. We really want to participate and do our part. But there is much uncertainty in the future.

Will we be able to achieve our goals in the USA? Will be able to achieve our goals for the Philippines? We are ready, willing and able to do the work we need to do. The question is will we be allowed to pursue it. If the economy keeps going bad, what do we do then?

How has the current economy and the projections for it impact your life and the lives of those you care for and support?

Thank you,

Anah

  • If you’d like a tool for setting your goals, you can use this web application:

    http://www.Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version and iCal are available too.
