No Comments Dual Purpose Time Pieces
With memories of mine trailing back to a very rare sight of a grandfather clock of one of my many uncles to the impressive sights in homes I visit here and there, the grandfather clocks have a tendency to be an attention getter and a centerpiece for stories.
So in that regard, these clocks already serve a dual purpose. Not only do they help to tell the time but they also serve as décor and a centerpiece in family stories. But that is not the dual purpose I am speaking of.
The dual purpose I am speaking of is the main purpose of telling the time but also using that Howard Miller clock as a survival instrument. For that reason, this link shows you my personal grandfather clock of choice.
How can a grandfather clock serve as a survival instrument? As Mother Nature has taught us this past weekend in Wisconsin, you can never be too prepared for a natural disaster. A grandfather clock can double in a pinch as a boat for a family of three during a flood. Yes, that sounds like a form of sacrilege on how to use a grandfather clock but if the water is going to damage it anyways it can at least save your life.
It is for that reason I chose the grandfather clock I did. A grandmother clock just wouldn’t be big enough to fit my daughter, my 6’2” hubby and me.
