5 Comments Do You Have an Internal Clock?

Some of us, like Nanay (mom), are blessed with an internal alarm clock. It’s a little voice inside of us that wakes us up 5 minutes before our alarm goes off. Our internal clock does work a lot when we become a nanay (mother) ourselves. This is truly a blessing when you have to get up early for a doctor appointment or perhaps driving early to the airport to catch your next flight.
However, my internal alarm clock just doesn’t work these days. I may have the ability to wake up 5 minutes before my alarm goes off but after only 6 hours of sleep my body still in the sleeping mode. My internal alarm clock does not seem to carry over in the waking hours. It would be nice if it is a forty five minute heads up. Hay nlang. I knew I had the internal alarm clock before I had my daughter. As a student for many long, long years (exaggerated jud), I was never late for final exams and morning sessions in my high school years haha! Why do these statements make me laugh? You can ask my high school friends.
It turns out that there are two types of internal alarm clocks.
The first one is reserved to those people who don’t have children under the age of 18. This one allows them to roll out of bed just before their alarm goes off after a night of 8 hours of restful sleep. The other alarm clock is called the “mom alarm clock”. This internal alarm wakes us up at 5 minutes before the baby needs to be fed, or 10 minutes before your toddler wets the bed or 15 minutes before your 6 year old wakes up with an endless demand for breakfast. This mom alarm clock can sometimes result in a minor hatred of the real alarm clock that wakes us up at 7am telling you to start the day as our children are peacefully sleeping.Fortunately, our daughter is home schooled. I don’t have to wake up as early as 6 am. How I hate getting out of bed mostly because of not having that constant heads up internal alarm clock. I remember those days as I leaped over my daughter’s backpack knowing full well that my daughter’s school bell is going to ring in 8 minutes. Home schooling definitely helps us in a lot of ways.
Sure you hear the same things said about homeschooling over and over and over but the benefits, as we have experienced, far outweigh what anything the critics (both professional and casual) say. Control of time, control of curriculum, and not having our daughter bring home the latest flu bug floating around the school makes us all the more productive. I could go on and on but this entry is long enough.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
I’m a light sleeper, i guess i can assume i have a very good and reliable internal clock lol. Honestly, yes i wake up before my alarm or at least my brain is. But always combatant in pulling myself up from my cold comfortable bed. Oh i’m really missing my evening shift so badly. After 9mnths of working early, i still hate it eventhough i’m physically used to waking up now. Asa gani ka sa mindanao? just can’t recall what city, davao bato? hello to ur sweet girl.
