Date Night for Computer Geeks

On one of our quite rare date nights together with our daughter at a relative’s place, my hubby and I did something ultra rare for us and went to a movie together. Normally, that doesn’t factor into our budget or busy schedule but it did this time. Or shall I say we made it work this time.

So what movie did we pick? Checking your newspapers, take a wild guess which one would appeal to a tech geek and a hubby who has a pen name of ‘Maturekid.’ You can cross off the romantic movies. It wasn’t about a car. It isn’t rated R.

Obviously if you are looking at my attached image, it is Iron Man. They did a great job on the casting of the actors and actresses. The movie flowed quite well with a lot of embedded humor you have to watch to catch. But for a tech geek like me, one has to love those special effects, computers, and technology even if it is Hollywood special effects. Anyone who is used to seeing Filipino special effects knows what I’m talking about on being amazed at the special effects in some movies here. (Sobrang High-Tech!)

Now if you do not know the back story, the movie does a great job explaining it. But it does help to research it a bit or have a hubby who was a comic book geek. Here is the story in a non-spoiler nutshell. Tony Stark (oh fafah Downey!) is a genius technology inventor and wealthy owner of an arms manufacturing company. Circumstances happen to get him to grow up and take responsibility for his previous decisions. He creates the Iron Man suit of armor and sets out on his personal mission. Mr. Stark in the Iron Man armor wins the day.

Was that vague enough? This is one of those movies that get that ultra rare mention on my blog. There are not many movies I like but this is one of them!!!
