What's Da Buzz?

If you haven’t noticed, I have a trait that assists me good on troubleshooting computers. I cannot let a topic go until I have found the answers and fixed it.

On fixing an issue with computers, this helps out a lot as I will keep on going until the problem is solved. However, it also often requires my husband to drag me to bed and make me sleep if I didn’t get it solved before 1 AM. With the issues of the troll attack, I am just the same.

After weeks of digging into the subject along with the technical issues, calling companies and legal firms for advice on policies, procedures and suggested solutions, I have prepared a resource for anyone to follow who wants to. In my menu on the top of my blog, there is a new button called Troll Proofing Your Blog.

As much as I do not like “How To…” articles, this is one of the very few I’ll write. What is written in the article can speak for itself. The main thrust is as a blog owner you choose what software you can use and how to set up your blog. When it is done the correct way, you force any troll to send you a comment giving you their IP and email address. Then you have the leverage and can still choose to not post the offending comment.

Trust me when I quote the phrase from Benjamin Franklin…

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.

I acquired the troll disease so I would like to spread the vaccine to all who choose to use it. Unfortunately it is being forgotten that in order to retain freedoms, it is the responsibility of the individual to maintain the basics of civility and keeping oneself accountable to standard human norms. When the person doesn’t police their own actions, then it falls to others to police their actions for them.

May we all be the tasers and the pepper spray for the Internet trolls of the world.
